Resort 2017

Man Ray’s muses formed the basis of my inspiration behind St. Roche’s Holiday / Resort collection. Specifically two strong creative and independent women who fueled Man Ray’s artistic vision and helped define the surrealist beau monde in Paris in the twenties and early thirties.

For Holiday ’16 I looked to Kiki de Montparnasse, the bohemian cabaret singer, artist’s model and fixture in Paris’s liberated social scene.

A mostly black colour palette is texturally rich for after dark: seductive sheer chiffon with a polka dot embroidery, mixed with silk velvet and handbeaded. A metallic dot handprint on silk, tux inspired pants and supersoft cable knits complete the capsule.

Pre-Spring / Resort ’17 was inspired by Lee Miller, the classic American beauty, Vogue model and photographer. She was modern and intellectual.

The collection is relaxed, artisanal and chic, with original embroidery designs hand-crafted in India embellishing tops and dresses and cool, braided Indigo Tencel pants adding a sporty edge.

Colour:
- Black, Ivory, Midnight and Bone
- Highlighted with Jaipur Pink, Poppy Red and Metallics

Fabrics include GOTS certified organic cotton, sustainable locally woven cotton and linen, handprinted and handbeaded silk, Tencel (a biodegradable eco-fabric made from wood pulp cellulose) and luxurious Alpaca knitwear from Peru.
